The Role

As social content manager, you’ll be responsible for building KatKin’s brand and accelerating our growth through social media strategy and execution. You’ll live and breathe social media, amplifying our message and nurturing our community with retention and acquisition-oriented content across platforms. You’ll define and execute our social media strategy, in collaboration with our customer experience and creative teams. 

We’re seeking a social media obsessive, with a keen eye for emerging trends and the creative nous to jump on them at speed.

We have a presence on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok – but we’re looking to reach every cat parent in the UK. So alongside managing these key platforms, you’ll always be on the lookout for the next big thing.

Key ownership areas
  • Posting and scheduling content across KatKin’s social channels – Instagram, Facebook, Clubhouse, LinkedIn and TikTok as core channels, with new and additional channels as required.

  • Monitoring and responding to comments across social channels in the KatKin tone of voice, to amplify our brand, build loyalty with customers and spark curiosity in prospects. 

  • Building and maintaining a social media content calendar, giving key stakeholders an evolving and up-to-date snapshot of social activity across the month. 

  • Creating and appearing in on-brand, best-in-class organic content for online channels, which could include blogs, posts, videos and copy. 

  • Observing digital media trends, reporting back to senior managers and helping to update broader digital marketing strategy in response. 

  • Managing and maintaining budgets for social media programmes. 

  • Owning and iterating forward tactical social content strategy and responsive content campaigns across all channels, updating best practice as needed. 

  • Developing and executing organic campaign partnership campaigns.

  • Creating and maintaining a ‘best in class’ list of brands across the social media space, surfacing to senior management and taking inspiration to ensure KatKin’s own cut through.

  • Tracking and reporting on social performance across all channels. 

  • Regularly refining and refreshing how we benchmark and report performance, to ensure we’re benchmarking correctly and reporting with purpose. 

Who we are looking for:
  • 1 to 3 years developing and executing social media strategies at a consumer-facing brand, with demonstrable success. 

  • A passion for and obsession with the intricacies of social media – an eye for emerging trends,  the creative skills to create cut-through content and a keen understanding of how to harness social media to create buzz around a brand.

  • Numerical literacy and clear view on which metrics really matter – and how to report on them in a clear, concise way.

  • A cat lover who’s keen and comfortable engaging with our community in our confident, wry tone of voice to create genuine conversations and connection. 

  • An agile thinker and problem solver, who thrives when working collaboratively within a team.

  • A 24/7 mentality to managing KatKin’s social media, with flex and support from the wider team.
